…not an easy task
I think my somewhat jaded expression in this photo captures the experience of trying to find an agent or publisher. I wrote a piece about it for the writing.ie website, which also explains how taking classes in stained glass inspired me to write a novel about Harry Clarke. You can read it here: https://www.writing.ie/tell-your-own-story/catherine-crichton-harry-clarke/
The search is ongoing and I have sent submissions to a number of small indie presses in the last few weeks. Keeping everything crossed. Otherwise, self publication is the plan for 2026.
On a positive note, the book was mentioned in the Irish Times last year. https://www.irishtimes.com/opinion/an-irish-diary/2024/01/09/pane-management-frank-mcnally-on-the-sad-story-of-a-harry-clarke-masterwork/
